Whole black gram - 1 cup
Kidney beans - 2 tbsp
Ginger - 1'' piece
Coriander powder - 2 tsp
Tomato puree - 1 cup
Garam masala -1/2 tsp
Milk - 1/4 cup
Fresh cream -3 tbsp
Red chillies - 2
Oil - 3 tbsp
Butter -1 tsp

Soak  black gram and kidney beans over night.Grind ginger  red - chilli paste.Drain out all water from pulses add 6 cups of fresh water.Pressure cook pulses along with half of ginger - red chillies paste,1tbsp oil and salt.After first whistle reduce the flame and cook for 30 min.Remove from fire,when pressure drops mash dal little.In a pan heat remaining oil,add tomato paste cook until thick,add remaining ginger - red chilli paste,coriander powder and garam masala.Fry til oil separates,be careful not to burn the masala.Add this masala mix to the dal .Add butter and simmer on low flame.Keep stirring and mashing the dal occasionally.Mix fresh cream and milk to a smooth paste.add this to the dal.Simmer and cook till you get the right consistency.Serve hot with roti's or plain rice.
