Now coming to the recipe, today's recipe is quite simple everyday one,Beetroot Mezhukkupurati. Its a famous kerala side dish and one of my favorite.When i got married and came to US i dint even know how to make this..I had to call my mom asking for the recipe.So this recipe goes to all those newly married girls who are still learning to cook.




INGREDIENTS


Beetroot - 2 medium diced
Onion - 1
Turmeric powder - 1/4 pinch
Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
Dry red chilli - 2 - 3
Curry leaf - 1 stalk
Salt - to taste
Oil -2tbsp
Water - 1 tbsp



METHOD


Heat oil in a pan.Splutter mustard seeds,then add dry red chilli and curry leaf.Add onion ,saute till it becomes soft.To this add beetroot cubes ,turmeric powder and salt.Mix well .Sprinkle water cover and cook on low flame for 10 minutes.Keep stirring in between so that it does not get burned and stick to the bottom of pan.
