Fish fillets - 4 - 5 (you can use regular fish too)
Onion - 1 large
Tomato sliced - 2 medium
Green chillies - 2 sliced
Ginger chopped - 1 tablespoon
Garlic chopped - 1 1/2 tablespoon
Coriander leaf - 2 tablespoons chopped
Mustard seeds - 1/4 teaspoons
Fenugreek seeds - 1 teaspoons
Chili powder- 1/2 tablespoon
Coriander powder - 1 tablespoon
Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon


Chili powder - 1/2 tablespoon
Pepper powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
Turmeric powder - a pinch
Corn flour - 1 1/2 tablespoon
Oil - enough to fry marinated fish


Cut fish fillets in to medium pieces.Make a mix of ingredients for marination (except oil) in 1 tablespoon water. Marinate fish pieces in the above marinade for about 20 minutes. Fry marinated fish pieces and keep aside. In a pan add 2 tablespoons of oil.Splutter mustard seed and fenugreek seeds.Add chopped ginger garlic and green chillies.To this add the sliced onion and saute till it becomes golden brown. Add chili powder,coriander powder ,turmeric powder cook till raw smell of masala goes away. Add sliced tomatoes now,mix well cover and cook for 2 minutes till tomatoes become cooked, mix in between so that the masala does not get burned.Now add salt and chopped coriander leaves and 1/4 cup water mix well Add fried fish pieces.Cover the fish pieces with masala on top cover and cook in low flame for 5 minutes.If you want a dry dish cook uncovered for some more time till all the water evaporates and you get your required consistency. Serve hot.
