DOSA and CHAMMANTHI


FOR DOSA
Ingredients:

idli rice - 2 cups
urad dal - 3/4 cup
fenugreek seeds - pinch
salt to taste

Method:

Add fenugreek seeds to urad dal.Soak idli rice and urad dal separately for 8 hours.Grind it to smooth paste separately.Mix both batters together .Add salt and keep the mixure in a warm place for fermentation.Over night is best.Once batter rises ,mix well and make dosas in shape of pancakes.

CHAMMANTHI
Ingredients
grated coconut - 1 cup
chilly powder - 1/4 tsp
Shallots - 2
mustard seeds
curry leaves
dry red chillies
salt to taste
water

Grind together grated coconut ,chilly powder and shallots with required amount of water.Add salt.Heat oil in a small pan splutter mustard seeds,curry leaves and dry red chillies.Pour this over the chammanthi. Serve with dosa.
