MUSHROOM MASALA

Every day we have chapathi for dinner ..and its a big task for me every night to find some thing different to go with chapathi..Most of the time i keep adding different ingredients that i think will go with the vegetable i have,and finally end up getting a new curry every other day.Today i was tired of breaking my head to find what to cook..So i was just looking through my cook books and i found a vanitha magazine cutting with this recipe..And luckily i had mushrooms in my fridge..

INGREDIENTS

Mushroom - 3 cups sliced
Kashmiri chilly powder - 3/4 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 1/2 tsp
pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
Thick coconut milk - 1/2 cup
Water - 1/2 cup
salt - to taste
Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Dry red chilli - 3
Ginger - 1 tbsp finely chopped
Onion - 2 finely chopped
Tomato - 2 finely chopped
Coriander leaves - to garnish


METHOD


Slice mushrooms and keep aside.In a frying pan add 1 tbsp oil,splutter mustard seed and dry red chilli.Add chopped ginger and onion to this,saute well till onion gets cooked.Add chilly powder,coriander powder,pepper powder,garam masala to this ,fry till raw smell of masala powders goes away.Add chopped tomatoes saute.Add sliced mushrooms and salt to this ,saute for 1 minute.Add 1/2 cup of water cover and cook in high flame till mushroom becomes tender .Reduce the flame and add coconut milk to this, mix well.cook for 2 to 3 minutes in very low flame.Garnish with coriander leaves.
