JEERA CHICKEN CURRY

I was talking to one of my friend the other day ,obviously about the usual topic food and recipes .. She was telling how she adds jeera powder to most of her recipes..That made me think that  i never include jeera powder in any of my recipes unless i saw the recipe somewhere and i am trying to make it with out any alterations , which by the way very rarely happens..so this recipe was purely an experiment ..But frankly speaking the outcome was amazing..So may be i should start adding jeera powder to my recipes..Anyways here goes the recipe

INGREDIENTS

Chicken - 1/2 kg
Onion - 1 medium chopped finely
Ginger garlic paste - 1 Tbsp
Green chilli - 3 to 4
Tomato - 1 big chopped finely
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Jeera poowder - 1 tbsp
Garam masala - 2 tsp
Chilli powder - (optional i added little cos i like super spicy curries)
Water - 1/2 cup
Coriander leaf - 1 to 2 strands for garnishing
Salt & Oil - as required

METHOD

In a pressure cooker heat oil. Add ginger garlic paste and green chillies .To this add onions ,Saute till it becomes golden brown .Add tomatoes cook till the tomatoes are mushy .Add all the dry powders to this one by one.Fry till raw smell of masala's go away .Add salt and chicken to this .Mix well .Pour 1/2 cup of water ,add more if you want more gravy,I added only half cup of water as some water will ooze out from chicken while its getting cooked .Close the pressure cooker and cook for 3 whistles.Off the stove and wait until all the pressure is released from the cooker. Open the pressure cooker lid,mix the curry well.Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves.
